Flower Shoppe: Vintage Flower Tutorial

Hi everyone!  I have been having so much fun playing with my newest Cricut Cartridge - Flower Shoppe!  This is such an awesome cart if you love flowers, which I do!  I am working on a series of videos showing how to make a variety of flowers with this cartridge.  Here is the first one:

I used Vintage Cream cardstock from PaperTrey Ink.  I love the pretty color, but it is extra thick and a little harder to cut on the cricut.  I inked the edges with Walnut distress ink.

Here is a video tutorial showing how I made this flower:

More cut files!

Thanks to wonderful advice from a few of you, I think I have fixed the files.  Anyone feel like testing them?

Here are links to the fixed (I hope!) files:

Shaped Box Strip (Gypsy cut file)
This is a strip of cardstock with tabs along both edges for making shaped boxes.  Click here and  here for projects showing how I used this.

Working on cut files

I think I must have done something wrong uploading my gypsy cut files, so I will try to fix it and put them back up.  Sorry!!

A few new cut files!!

I have watched videos of many of you updating your Gypsy with ease.  I only update my Gypsy about once a year because it usually takes me 3 days on the phone with customer support.  This time I only had to call customer support twice. Yay!  Apparently I need to use different anti virus software.  I guess it doesn't like "bugs".  Lol!!
I can currently do updates on my husbands laptop, but not on any of the other computers in my house.  (We will count that as a small victory) But, I can only get some of the files off my Gypsy.  I get a fatal error when it is about a third done. (The error is fatal because it locks up my computer and I have to shut down and restart!)  Grrrrr!!
It looks to me like the only way to get a file off the gypsy is to "back up gypsy files".  Do any of you know if there is a way to just select one?  When I highlight one file and click on the backup, it still tries to save all of the files. I guess I will be chatting with the very nice (really!) people at customer support.  They are very patient with me.  Sorry to go on so long  . . .
Here are the three files I managed to get so far.  I hope to have a few more to share soon!

Vintage Flower Shape Box

Hey everyone!  Today I have another fun shape box for you!
(Scroll down for a video tutorial)

I used Vanilla Bean crinkle ribbon for the handle.  The stamped sentiment is from my Friends & Neighbors stamp set.

I cut all of the flowers from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartrdige:

The flower base - 4 inches
The big blue flower - 3.24 inches
Large cream flowers - 2.75 inches
Medium cream flowers - 2.17 inches
Small blue flowers - 1.59 inches
Smallest cream flowers - 1.12 inches

I used my Gypsy stylus to curl the edges of the large blue flower under.

Have a super day!

Witch Cauldron - Shape Box!

Hello my crafty friends!  I love to make shape cards and I am so excited to show you how I made this fun shape box!
(scroll down for a video tutorial)

The cauldron (cut at 4 inches) is from the Mini Monsters cartridge.

All of the fun Halloween sentiments are from my new Happy Haunting stamp set.

I used glossy accents on the green brew and Halloween twine. I love to share my cut files and hope to have the cut file for the paper strip with tabs up soon.  (As soon as my Gypsy and Computer start communicating again!)

Watch this video for step by step instructions!:

Have a wonderful day!

Monday Challenge #25 - Happy Harvest!

It's time for another Monday Challenge! I love this time of year when the weather starts cooling off a bit and I can start looking forward to Fall holidays. September is also the time of year that we pick most of the fruit from our trees and have more than we can eat from our garden. I will be canning tomatoes, juicing grapes, and drying apples, but I have a couple of fun projects and videos already scheduled for you this week!

This weeks Challenge:  Happy Harvest!

Inspiration from my awesome Design Team!:
Amy
I love Amy's shiny apples - they look good enough to eat! Beautiful card!

Aymee
I love how Aymee framed her stamped sentiment on her beautiful card!

Aren't these just the most adorable little characters?!?! I love the expressions on their faces!

Marlene
I love the beautiful papers and colors Marlene used - love the pumpkins!

These projects were made using:

Pyramid Favor Box - filled with chocolate!

I saw this fun box on Everyday Cricut and thought I would give it a try! I hope to have a cut file uploaded to share soon!  This box has one tab to glue and a few simple folds.  It goes together really fast!

The cute patterned cardstock is from Pebbles.

The Stamps are from several sets:

Happy Birthday - Sweet Sentiments #1
Wishing you all the treats. . . - Candy Corn Kisses
Just for you - Friends & Neighbors

I used Pink Sorbet and Mandarin bakers twine for the handle.

The friend I made this for is hard to catch home, so I made this handle so it would be easy to hang on her front doorknob!

I hope you are having a terrific weekend!

Plant Smiles, Grow Laughs, Harvest Love!

Hello my crafty friends!  I am playing along in the challenge over at Card Patterns this week, so I thought I would share!

Here is the sketch:

The scalloped circle, I designed on my Gypsy using the scallop from the home decor cartridge.  The leaf is from the Doodlecharms cartridge.

I trimmed tiny strips of paper, then wound them around my piercing tool to make the curly paper accents.

The stamped sentiment comes from my Happy Fall Stamp set.

I stamped some swirls in the background with walnut distress ink and I used Vintage Chocolate bakers twine.
I hope you are having a wonderful week!
