DT Post by Gwen - Dad, you're the best!

Hi everyone!  This is Gwen from This and That by Gwen, to share a fun summer card or Father's Day card with you today.

I am really having fun with step cards, you can get so much more on one than just a flat card.  This cute cut is a brand new file from SVG Cutting Files.  As soon as I saw it I fell in love with it!  It has so many cute images, I know it's hard to believe but this is only part of them!  You can get them here

I sized everything in Silhouette DE to fit the step card and cut it with my cameo.

The side view gives you a better idea of how a step card works.

The tag was cut with the Tiny Tags Metal Dies and stamped with the Tiny Tags stamp set both from My Craft Spot.  I tied the tag on with Olive Jute String also from My Craft Spot it matches perfectly with the green in the paper!  The cork circles are so old I don't even know where I got them, but they fit with the feel of this card.

I embossed the outer layer of the canoe to make it look like wood.

Monday Challenge # 99 - Welcome To The Neighborhood!

Hello my crafty friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  Are you ready for another fun challenge?!

This week's challenge:  Welcome to the Neighborhood

Now it's time to sit back and enjoy these fun projects from my awesome design team!!:

Heather's card is soooo CUTE!! I love the house border and especially that fun background paper!

I love how she used the Chunky Alphabet stamps and the Natural jute twine!

GiGi's house shaped card is absolutely gorgeous!

The embossed brick is amazing and I love the polka dot roof! Such a pretty card!

GiGi cut her sentiment tag with the Tiny Doily Dies.  The stamped circle sentiment is from the Stampin' Around Spring stamp set and she finished it off with a Toadally Green Crinkle Ribbon bow.

Robin's card is beautiful! What a great idea to use the vinyl as an outline and then watercolor!! She may have just started a new trend!  Click HERE for her fun photo tutorial!

Robin's stamped sentiment is from the  Friends & Neighbors stamp set.

I love the white picket fence on Gwen's fun card - brings back some great childhood memories! What a fun step card!

The sentiment on Gwen's card and on her cute box is from the Friends & Neighbors stamp set.

I love the inking on her cute bird! What a fun gift box!

DT Post by GiGi - Way to go Graduate!

Hello everyone! This is GiGi here from The Cricut Bug to share a card that I made using My Craft Spot products on. I used the Lacy Banner Dies, Chunky Alphabet, and Tiny Tags stamp sets. I also used a bit of Black Stripe Ribbon. Did you know that My Craft Spot sells Ribbons and Strings? They can be found in the String's N Things tab on the upper banner.

I used My Craft Spot's Lacy Banner Dies and Chunky Alphabet to create the 2013.

It's that time of year again when we all have Graduation! I love making custom colored cards for the kids. I think it makes the card that more special.

I cut the girl from the SVG Cutting Files The Grad file and stamped her face with a Peachy Keen face stamp.  I created the 2013 banner by adding some Black Stripe Ribbon down the side and layered the circles. I created the circles using My Craft Spot's Lacy Banner Dies and stamped the numbers using My Craft Spot's Alphabet stamp set. I tied a bow for the top of the circles and stamped the sentiment at the bottom using My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags Stamp set. I spread the sentiment out long ways instead of layered on top of each
other and added some red brads to the sentiment box.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing my card and have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Guest Designer - Jenny Newlin!

Hey, y'all!  This is Jinny Newlin from Soaring.  Kimberly asked if I'd like to be the Guest Designer today, and I adamantly said, "Yes!"  What an honor!  So, I picked the Thank You stamp set to share with you all and created a card set that will soon be on its way to my sister for her birthday.

Here's a closeup of one of the cards, but they all vary slightly in my choice of sentiment in order to really show of this gorgeous set, as well as in the mix of patterned papers used.

I started this card by anchoring a large piece of patterned paper in the center of the Kraft, cardstock, card face with black-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.  I then adhered a patterned, paper panel in and near the left edge of the previous piece and secured it with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  A stack of three, die-cut, patterned, paper hearts were then adhered, in a column of three, down the center of that panel and anchored with black-threaded, messy, machine stitches, before being fluffed for dimension.

Finally, I stamped the "You shouldn't have But I'm glad you did" sentiment, on a hand-cut, White, cardstock pennant, which was set, near its left end, with a color-coordinating brad, laced with a hemp twine bow, and adhered it, with foam tape, between the top two fluffed hearts.

I hope you'll stop by my blog to see lots more closeups, as well as how I've packed these cuties up for delivery.  Kimberly is also offering up a FREE stamp set of choice to one lucky commenter on my blog.  So, stop by the Clear Stamps link above; track down your favorite set; and drop by to tell me which one you picked.  Can't wait to see you there!  Have a blessed weekend!

DT post by Ally - Have a Fintastic Day!

Hi everyone! Ally here from Rock Paper Cricut with a cute card set perfect for summer. I used the newly released Cute Critters stamp set by My Craft Spot. Definitely one of my favorite sets full of fun sentiments. :)

Have a FIN-tastic day! is from the Cute Critters stamp set by My Craft Spot. I tied a Twisted Teal twine border between my fish and the sentiment. If you'll notice I tied a knot in my twine instead of my usual bow for a more nautical look. :) The shaped card came from the Life's A Party cartridge cut 5.47". I love the shape and it still fits perfectly in an A2 card sized envelope. I cut the white layer at 5.24" and the water layer at 5.12". I cut an additional 5.12" layer in white for the inside of my card.

The fish is from the Animal Antics cartridge. I used The Cornies face stamps by Peachy Keen Stamps for the eyes. Of course I used some enamel dots for the bubbles.

Hope you all enjoyed today's card and I hope you get chance to use  the Cute Critters stamp set to make fun cards as well. :)

DT Post by Robin - Hip Hip Hooray graduate!

Hello, this is Robin from Robin's Creative Cottage with a fun Graduation shape card share. I used two of Kimberly's stamp sets... Sweet Sentiments set #2 and Tiny Tags.

I made this card from scratch using my Silhouette Cameo, and it was easy peasy with all the simple features in the silhouette studio.

With graduation coming up so quickly I wanted to have a few cards to give to my daughters friends, to celebrate their special day.

I love shape cards, but my favorite part of this card is the fun wavy banner!
I stamped the Hip Hip Hooray! from Sweet Sentiments #2 and the word Graduate is from the Tiny Tags stamp set (I masked off the "way to go" so it wouldn't get inked).
I made two score lines on each side of the words then folded them back and forth, added thick mounting tape between each fold to give it some lift.

The graduation hat is from Miss Kate Cuttables. I added a layer of black fun foam to give it a 3-D look, along with orange embroidery floss for the tassel.

other view of the shape card.

Have a great day and thanks so much for visiting today.... feel free to visit my blog for more creative projects...
